Best in the West!

The much-loved Lakes Hotel at West Lakes has recently undergone an impressive extensive revamp. Formerly known as The Lakes Resort Hotel, this family-owned and operated hotel is the ultimate destination for entertainment in the Western suburbs.

Ideally situated next to the Lake, this iconic western suburbs hotel's ground floor has transformed into a space that you would expect to see in the CBD and not out at West Lakes. The ground floor utilizes its unique lakeside location to its advantage with the views to be enjoyed from almost every vantage point.

The Lakes Hotel's ground floor has introduced distinct dining precincts to maximize the venues large floor plan. The renovation has brought a multi-faceted food and beverage offering including the hotels new entrant - Mr. Neptune’s.

Mr. Neptune’s is a relaxed café featuring a waterfront lounge area with a double-sided fireplace. I can see this space being extremely popular in the winter months ahead. Adjoining Mr. Neptune’s is the Lakes Hotel’s Sun Deck which overlooks the Lake – perfect in the Summer months, meaning Mr. Neptune’s is the place to chill all year round.

The other favorite dining option at The Lakes is Knot’s Kitchen. Formerly known as the Lakefront Bistro, Knot’s Kitchen offers a family friendly dining option split over two levels with seating for over 200 people. It’s the perfect venue to celebrate any occasion, dinner with close family or friends or even for date night. Knot’s Kitchen also has a Wok Station allowing you to view chefs whipping up wok tossed favourites before your very eyes. Knot’s Kitchen also has a salad bar as well as hot veg bar to compliment your dining experience.

If a fine dining experience is what you're after, Crusoe’s should be on your radar, this is The Lakes signature restaurant. Head Chef Nigel Rich is the mastermind behind the creative menus that you will find at both Knot’s Kitchen and Crusoe’s.

Nigel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having held positions at Oscar’s Café Bar & Restaurant (Hong Kong) as well as Darry’s Verandah and The Elbow Room in McLaren Vale.

Operations Manager for Fahey Hotels – Trent Fahey explains why The Lakes is the place to be in the West. Trent say’s “We have seen massive change in the West Lakes Precinct with footy moving from AAMI stadium to the city. New housing developments and upgrades to the Westfield, it is very exciting to see so much change in West Lakes, Henley and surrounding suburbs. This provided the perfect timing for our own renovations, broadening our food and beverage offering.”

“We wanted to create a fresh and vibrant space that genuinely has something for everyone throughout the day – all occasions, ages, and tastes”.

Another area that has seen change is the New Lakes Bar which features a massive 195-inch-High Definition Super Screen as well as your regular sports betting facilities. An impressive feature of the super screen is the ability for the screen to be split so that multiple sports can be viewed concurrently. This is the ultimate sporting experience, creating a home away from home atmosphere and the Sport’s inspired bar features a cutting edge engineered sound ceiling system. The area allows you to charge your devices as several booths having USB ports included for your convenience. The booths also have adjustable lighting to set the right mood for your social gathering.

In addition to the exciting changes that have been made to the ground floor, it’s often easy to forget that the Lakes Hotel is also a premium choice for accommodation in the western suburbs. The Hotel boasts 72 accommodation rooms above the 2 bars, 2 restaurants, café, sun deck and 7 function and conference rooms. If that wasn’t enough there are also pool and Spa facilities, gaming room, bottle shop and cellars as well as having Westfield across the road and the Port precinct within easy reach.

It’s a superior choice when it comes to entertainment in the West.
