Just another day in Paradise! | Hotel's new look

Over the past few years many of our traditional family hotels/pubs in Adelaide have undergone extensive revamps. We can now add a popular north-eastern suburban favourite to the successful extreme makeover list.

The new look Paradise Hotel officially launched last night to an upbeat crowd despite the hottest summer day we have had this season.

The Paradise Hotel's unique 'Isle of Capri' inspired renovation will have you believing you're stepping out onto a terrace overlooking the Italian Coastline rather than a courtyard facing Lower North East Road. The Courtyard featuring massive bi-fold style windows bringing the outdoors indoors, circulating fresh air and creating a seamless transition of space. The tables in the courtyard are adorned in unique mosaic tiles, adding a pop of colour, true to the Italian Coastal theme. This functional space includes a mix of seated booths, shared bench seating, raised tables with stools and also includes ample room for a standing cocktail function.

Adjacent to the courtyard is their brand new dining room, designed to ensure that the venue maintained it's status as a family friendly reputation by featuring a mini cinema for the young ones and also those young at heart to enjoy a selection of children's movies and tv shows on an impressive big screen. The mini cinema includes amphitheatre seating softened by pillows so you can get really comfy.

The well thought out design allows parents to keep an eye on their children as the open seating is within arms reach of the mini cinema. This allows the adults to enjoy a night out whilst knowing that their kids are also being entertained and supervised. The dining area can accomodate up to 250 guests with extra space available at the bar, so if you're planning an event you need to check this out!

Venue Manager Adrian Prosser took some time out to have a chat to us and he says: "We have created something that this part of the East has not yet seen, we hope that everyone enjoys what has been done".

Now. Let's talk about the food! It's not just the exterior and interior of the hotel that has had a revamp. The food menu has also had a refresh with changes lead by Head Chef Matthew De Cean. Although some of the venue's signature favourites have remained including the rotisserie chicken and seafood platters; the menu has some exciting new additions.

Despite being far enough from our coastline and ocean, some of the freshest seafood you can imagine can be devoured at The Paradise Hotel including freshly shucked oysters, SA fresh king prawns, panko crumbed calamari, ale battered flathead and grilled half shell scallops.

After sampling some tantalising starters including crispy haloumi fries with lemon as well as mushroom arancini balls with sugo, we guarantee even Nonna would be proud.

The coconut prawn salad was another crowd favourite, the crunchy coconut flavoured crustacean was evenly balanced with the fresh crunch of celery, bean shoots, spring onions, capsicum, cucumber and chilli and then complemented by a hot and sour salad dressing.

Matthew De-Cean says, "The new menu features a variety of modern dishes, but we haven't forgotten about the good old fashion pub favourites that everyone enjoys. We're a great suburban hotel with great food offerings."

For those that seek traditional pub fare, do not despair as you will also find schnitzels and burgers including the delicious Cape Byron prime beef cheese burger.

The Paradise Hotel's new look is an absolute winner, polishing it's family-friendly vibe, whilst incorporating tradition with the modern interior refresh with a unique Italian coastal theme. In time we can see people saying that they are heading to Paradise without referring to the O-Bahn.

Once you visit, we can guarantee you will want to return, then you can brag to your friends that its was just another day in PARADISE.

You can find the Paradise Hotel at 700 Lower North East Road, Paradise, SA 5075

It is open seven days a week from 8:30am - late.
