Last weekend of Jackson vs Jackson - Gospo Collective. BE QUICK!

Last Friday night, MANABOUTADL ventured to the Peacock Tent at the expanded Gluttony venue in the east parklands. Caught in the hype of the Fringe opening night, we were treated to a one hour concert that paid tribute to musical geniuses Michael and Janet Jackson. The show aptly named Jackson vs Jackson, a production by Australia's leading vocal powerhouse group - Gospo Collective was performed in front of a sold out crowd. The beautiful harmonious voices of this group had us entertained with some of Michael and Janet’s greatest hits.

Headed by musical director Charmaine Jones-Devasagayam, the uber talented group performed classic’s such as All For You, The Way You Make Me Feel, Black or White, Billie Jean, Man In The Mirror to name a few. Everything about the show was impressive, from the stage to the lighting and we were super impressed at the finer detail considered including the backing choir all sporting a white glove just like the King of Pop. The cast is also one of the biggest at this years Fringe with over 100 cast members involved in the Jackson Extravaganza.

What I loved about the show was that it had something for everyone, people of all ages would enjoy the show as Michael and Janet's music can be enjoyed by the whole family, it definitely is a family friendly event. The other aspect of the show that I loved was that you couldn't help but tap your feet and sing along as the Jackson's music is universally loved by everyone. The fact that Gospo Collective were creative and daring enough to dedicate a whole tribute show to the Jackson's should be applauded.

Charmaine says "I am proud to say that we are knocking down the walls of 'gospel' to create something new and beautiful - using this style of music to re-work contemporary greats, puts a new spin on this genre and creates something not seen before in this country".

- Friday 23rd February 2018 - 5:00pm

- Saturday 24th February 2018 - 5:00pm and 10:20pm

- Sunday 25th February 2018 - 2:30pm and 8:30pm
