Eat like a SAINT in the North!

Foodie lovers rejoice there is a new hotspot just 20kms north of the CBD. Saints Kitchen is the brainchild of a passionate and proud Adelaide family and we are so excited to see their arrival at the NEW Saints Shopping Centre on Main North Road in Salisbury Plain. This exciting new venue is co-owned by Gaby and Cathy Haidar, Danny and Marissa Haidar and their cousin Tony Nastasi. This dynamic family have been in the hospitality game for a very long time so they know exactly what they are doing. Saints Kitchen is a large, bright and open eatery with tasteful modern decor. It really has the CBD vibe in the heart of the North. The bar area has a floor to ceiling brickwork design with foilage hanging from the ceiling. If you are a sweet tooth you have to check out their dessert cabinet.

So lets talk about the food, Boy oh Boy does Saints deliver! We were lucky enough to be invited to their official launch on Friday the 21st of June which was organised from our good friends at Adelaide Food Bloggers. The evening showcased a sample of items from their menu. One of our favourites was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. If you love crispy, flavourful and moist chicken tenders well this is the dish for you. Their pizzas are delicious and you will savour every mouthful and the flavour combinations of the toppings are out of this world. You must try the Prawn and Avocado, they are extremely generous with their servings of prawn. Then there was the slow cooked beef cheeks, what a mighty dish this was! We are still salivating at the thought of it.

One of the features on their menu is their breakfast tower and if you are looking for an instagrammable brunch place, well this place is right up your alley. The breakfast tower has everything you could hope for, think haloumi, chorizo, bacon, eggs, vine ripened tomatoes, the most buttery mushrooms that ever existed as well as fresh toast and if you don't think it could get any better, the tower is topped with a fluffy pancake complete with blueberries and ice cream. Their extensive menu is extremely impressive and we are so excited at what this place will do for people in the Northern suburbs.

If you like your sweets Saints will definitely have you coming back for more. We also sampled some of their signature dessert items and we were absolutely blow away by their sundaes served in fish bowl martini style glasses. We also sampled beautiful pancakes with salted caramel and popcorn, the most fudgy chocolate brownie, some classic pastries and puffs as well as some healthy treats that were supplied by Raw Earth Desserts. Our personal favourite was the Banoffee Pizza, a beautiful banana, caramel and cream delight on top of a pizza base complete with Chocolate shavings.

This place has something to cater for all tastebuds and if you are Gluten intolerant, they even have your best interests at heart as they have a variety of dishes that are gluten free. This new venue is sure to be as popular as the family's other success story Cafe Sia. The northern suburbs have been crying out for a eatery like this and thanks to the Haidar and Nastasi families this is now a reality. So if you are looking for a new place to dine we guarantee that Saints Kitchen will not disappoint and its arrival is signalling the start of the New North. We feel the northern suburbs are going to boom in the next few years and venues such as this one will thrive as the region grows.
