I was given this bottle of wine from Michael Petrucci when it was bottled about 6 or 7 years ago. Since that moment, like most of the wines that are given to me, they just sit idle in my wine rack and forgotten about until I have a special occasion to celebrate.
I thought it would be fitting to rummage through the vast collection of wines in my possession and relocate this beauty. This bottle is very unique as Michael Petrucci came up with a brilliant concept. The wine contains a small oak stave which allows ongoing oak integration as the wine develops in the bottle.
It provides every lucky customer who can get their hands on this gem be the winemaker. You are in charge and can determine the time the wine ages on oak, so a lot of responsibility rests on your shoulders to get the right amount of integration.
